Do you always need to bundle your home and auto insurance?

I'm buying a house and need home insurance. My car insurance is through Farmers. Am I required to get home insurance from them or can I have a separate policy? What's recommended to find the best price?

“Bundling your home and
car insurance
is usually recommended for ease and the additional money you can save on both your policies. However, you can have two separate policies if you prefer.
If you’re happy with
Farmers
, you should request a quote for home insurance. By doing so, you can see what your savings will be along with the cost of home insurance.
From there, shop around. You can look into multiple companies to see what they would charge for home insurance. You can also look at what the cost would be to bundle your car insurance policy with them.
Once you have a few different quotes, you can determine whether bundling your policies or having two separate policies would be best for you. Every company is different, so you’ll likely see a wide range of prices and coverages. Choose the policy or option that provides you with the best possible coverage for a rate you can afford.
Another way to make sure you get the best rate whether you bundle insurance or not is to check your car insurance quotes before every renewal policy. Use the
Jerry
app to compare rates from top insurers and get the best rate for your car insurance needs.”
