Do night vision driving glasses really work?

I was thinking about buying some night vision driving glasses because I work the graveyard shift and regularly drive at night. However, I’m a bit skeptical. Are night vision driving glasses any good?

Studies show night vision driving glasses don’t work. Although readily available at pharmacies and retailers for about $20, they are ineffective for improving your eyesight at night.
Instead of wasting your money on night vision driving glasses, try a few of these tips to improve your vision when driving in the dark:
  • Wear glasses or contacts if they’re necessary for you to see properly.
  • Replace your windshield wipers every six months to a year.
  • Get an anti-reflective coating on your eyeglasses.
  • Keep your headlights free of dirt, grime, and debris.
  • Dim your dashboard lights.
  • Clean your windshield regularly, both inside and outside.
  • Get regular eye exams.
Driving safely no matter the time of day is of paramount importance. And so is protecting yourself and your car with great car insurance coverage—without overpaying for it.
