Do new brake pads squeak after being installed on a car?

I recently installed new brakes on my car but have noticed a squeaking sound since getting them. Is this normal for a car’s new brakes to squeak?

I definitely get how the squeaking sound could be concerning!
However, there’s no need to panic since the noise you’re hearing is common for new brakes. The squeaking is usually moisture gathering on the rotors.
Remember, the rotors are the part of your car that the tires are attached to, and they help rotate and move your car. So, when moisture forms on the rotors, your new brakes will squeak because they’re clamping down on a damp surface. Know that this squeaking will reduce with time.
Another common reason behind your squeaky, new brake pads can be used too much, too soon. For example, this can include riding on your brakes as you drive down steep descents or slamming on your brakes frequently. If you notice this sound during heavy driving, perhaps give your brakes a moment to relax by stopping for coffee or simply reducing your speed and coasting.
If the sound continues to linger, don’t be shy to take your car to an auto mechanic to diagnose the problem.
