Do limos have seat belts?
My daughter and her friends want to rent a limo to drive around the city for their grade 8 graduation gift, but I know how rowdy they can get. I’m concerned that having a bunch of teenage girls in the back of a limo is dangerous! Do they have seatbelts?

Some limos have seat belts, but it depends on the type of car. Passenger vehicles designed to accommodate more than ten people with seats that face sideways aren’t required to have seatbelts, and stretch limos and certain busses fall under this category.
Smaller limos and town cars have seatbelts, and passengers may be legally required to wear them depending on the state. It’s always recommended to wear a seatbelt when in a moving car.
That said, even if a commercial vehicle doesn’t have seatbelts, they often have other safety measures to protect passengers. Federal regulations set rules for transportation companies on financial responsibility, inspection and repair, driver qualifications, and how long drivers are allowed to be on the road to ensure passenger and driver safety.
