Do I need Volvo brand windshield wipers for my Volvo?
I have a Volvo S60, and with Spring coming, it is time to replace the wipers. I haven’t done it yet for this car, but the Volvo forums insist that I do not use generic wiper blades. Do I need Volvo brand windshield wipers for my S60?

It is tough to know the truth about which parts of your car can be replaced with generic parts instead of the ones recommended by the manufacturer.
It is recommended that you use
Volvo
windshield wipers every time you replace your Volvo’s blades. Volvo custom makes their blades to fit each individual model. But there are other brands that will fit, although they may not last as long.You might pay a little more for Volvo brand blades, but here is what you get for the money:
- The highest graphite to rubber ratio on the market means that your blades withstand more friction, skip less often, and are quieter when they operate.
- Because of the custom fit and quality materials, Volvo blades often need to be replaced annually, instead of every 6 months like other brands.
- Volvo blades offer better performance and durability because they are completely customized and thoroughly tested to work with each individual model.
While you can certainly find blades that fit your S60 from other brands, you will likely end up replacing them more often, and they may not work as well with your car.
While you might want to spring for premium car parts, you shouldn’t have to pay premium prices for your car insurance policy.
