Do I need to raise my auto coverage limits in Montana?

Someone told me I should raise my coverage limits. I currently carry the state-minimum limits for Montana. Is it really necessary to raise my limits?

“Raising your limits can be beneficial. By carrying higher limits, you are ensuring that you are fully protected if there’s an accident. Carrying only the
state minimum car insurance
typically doesn’t offer enough coverage after an accident.
Medical bills alone can often exhaust coverage. If you are considering raising your limits, you should be sure that they protect your current and future assets. You want to get the highest amount of coverage you can afford.
Depending on your situation, you may benefit from having both
comprehensive insurance
and
collision car insurance
.
If you’re concerned about the cost, you can compare prices. It is possible to find
cheap car insurance
even with higher coverage limits. “
