Do I need rental liability insurance in California?
Do I need to purchase liability insurance to drive a rental car legally? I'm renting a car to visit my sister in California. I don't have a personal insurance policy.
“When renting a car in California, most rental car companies include liability coverage at the state-required levels.
If you don’t have a personal auto insurance policy, you may consider purchasing additional rental car insurance through the rental car company. They offer higher liability coverage as well as collision coverage.
If you plan on paying with a credit card, you can check if your credit card company has any rental insurance coverage.”
