“A haunted house can be a ton of fun, especially for your guests. However, when it comes to a DIY haunted house operated out of
your own home
, I recommend that you prepare before you let your door creak ominously open. Ensure you’ve removed any tripping hazards and set up enough lighting so the bloody horror remains fake.
Insurance considers a DIY haunted house like any other house party. You might want to increase your liability limits for the duration of your haunted house. This way, if anyone gets injured while enjoying the spooks and spirits, you can have some peace of mind.
You may also want to ask your insurer about event liability insurance. This covers all sorts of grand events, from retirement parties to weddings and, of course, your haunted house.
If you have any questions about insurance for your haunted house, you can call our knowledgeable and licensed customer service agents at

Now, go get your spook on!”
