Do I need car insurance to get an oil change in Minnesota?
I am 18 years old and I just got my first car. I need to do a little work to the car for it to be road-worthy, and I want to take it for an oil change. Do I need insurance to be able to do that?

“Congratulations on your first car! You don’t need insurance to get an oil change, but you do need insurance to drive it to the mechanic’s shop legally.
If you are not ready to start your car insurance policy just yet, check to see if a mobile mechanic would come to you for the oil change. Otherwise, it is safer to get it towed to the shop.
Once you are ready to get a policy started, you can find cheap car insurance by using Jerry. This free app will get quotes from up to 45 carriers in just seconds, and you can get your car on the road the same day.
