I read that the batteries in the Chevy Bolt were recalled. Do I need to get a replacement battery for my Chevy Bolt?

While the recall on the
Chevrolet Bolt
battery modules is set to replace defective lithium-ion batteries, new battery replacement parts are not yet ready.
Until the remedy can be completed, Chevrolet has requested customer take the following steps:
  • For 2017 and 2018 models, set your vehicle to a 90 percent state of charge limitation using Hilltop Reserve mode or Target Charge Level mode for the 2019-2022 model years.
  • Charge your vehicle more often
  • When possible, avoid depleting their battery below 70 miles of remaining charge
  • Park your vehicle outside immediately after charging
  • Do not leave your vehicle charging indoors overnight
