Do I have to wait to edit my car insurance coverage until my policy renewal?

I'd like to increase the liability coverage on my policy, but it isn't set to renew for another three months. Can I make changes now or do I have to wait?

“Most
car insurance companies
will allow you to make changes outside of your policy renewal period.
While insurance companies use your policy renewal as a period to re-rate and review your policy, they typically won’t limit changes made to your policy outside this.
If you’d like to edit your coverages, you can normally do this online or by calling your insurance company directly. As you want to increase your
liability coverage
, you should expect your rate to increase.
If you decide you’re unhappy with your rate due to the additional coverages added, you can always shop around. You may be eligible for a better rate with higher coverages with another company. Use the
Jerry
app to compare rates from over 50 insurance companies and get the best liability coverage to feel protected and comfortable.”
