Do I have to pay a fee to remove my deceased spouse from my car insurance?

My wife died a few weeks ago and I'm trying to get all her affairs in order. This includes removing her name from our shared car insurance policy. Will I be charged for this?

I’m very sorry for your loss. Most
car insurance
companies will not charge you a fee for removing your wife’s name from the policy. Once you contact your insurer, they’ll make the change and that should be it.
If your company does insist on charging you for this service, then you may want to consider switching to another provider.
