Do electric cars lose range over time?

I’m interested in buying an electric car, but I’m concerned about how the performance of the battery would hold up after a few years of driving. Do electric cars lose range over time?

Unfortunately yes, just like the lithium-ion battery in your phone or another rechargeable device, the battery in an
electric car
will lose range over time.
Thankfully, electric car batteries are federally mandated under warranty for the first 100,000 miles. Studies done on a Tesla Model 3 have shown that even after 100,000 miles, there is minimal battery degradation. On average, lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles only lose about 1-2% of range for each year of use.
