Do electric cars lose charge when parked?

I want to buy an electric car, but I don’t drive every day. My car sits for a few days before I use it. Do electric cars lose their charge when parked?

Great question! Electric vehicles lose minimal charge when parked. The loss is small, though, and shouldn’t be a huge concern.
Now is the time to get into electric vehicles, as more states introduce legislation that will eradicate gas vehicles in the next 10 years. With that brings a lot of questions about what electric cars can do.
Just like a regular car, electric cars will lose charge over time. However, they lose less charge thanks to their lithium-ion batteries.
Because they are more efficient, if left at 80% charge when parked, it won’t lose a significant charge. If you’re parking it for a day or two, leaving it at 80% will let you drive without worries.
Even if you do lose some of the charge when your car is parked, EV charging might be as quick as fueling up soon, so even if it does run out of battery, a charge-up will be easy enough to get.
Whether your car runs on gasoline or electric power you always need insurance.
