Do electric cars interfere with pacemakers?
I recently had a pacemaker implanted and I need to avoid any electric interference. Can I still drive my electric car?

Great question! It is completely safe to be inside and/or operate an electric car even with a pacemaker.
Car safety ratings are important and can impact a buyer’s decision. Luckily, most electric cars have great safety ratings and are safe for anyone with a medically implanted device to drive. Clinical studies have concluded that pacemaker patients need not fear electric cars.
The electric fields generated inside electric cars when they run are not strong enough to negatively affect the performance of a pacemaker. It is completely safe for drivers and passengers to be inside an electric car, even with a pacemaker or other medical device sensitive to electromagnetic fields.
In short, there is no way for an electric car to interfere with or otherwise impact the performance of your pacemaker or medical device. The electric field generated by an electric car operation is very low level and shouldn’t be of concern.
