Do birds travel well in cars?

Would it stress my bird out to bring him on a road trip? I don’t want to leave him by himself because I know that he would get bored, but I also don’t want to make him miserable by taking him in the car.

You’re in luck! Most birds travel very well in cars.
However, it’s still possible that a trip to a new location will make your bird a little stressed, especially if he doesn’t usually leave the house. To prepare your bird for travel, make sure to do the following:
  1. Put your bird in a cage.
  2. Make sure your car is warm enough.
  3. Put a cloth over the cage.
  4. Remove any toys or swings from the cage while in motion.
If you’re concerned about traveling with your bird, it wouldn’t hurt to contact your vet prior to leaving to discuss your options and to get more recommendations for safe travel.
