Can you walk around in an RV while driving?

My husband and I are on a cross-country road trip and hit a bit of a snag. I like to get out of the passenger seat to walk around a bit, but he says that it’s dangerous. Is it safe to walk around inside an RV while driving?

Taking the time to stretch your legs is important when on a
cross-country road trip
. However, you should stop at a rest area if you want to walk because moving around inside an RV can be dangerous.
Here’s why:
  • You’re at risk of being thrown around if the vehicle makes a sudden or sharp turn.
  • The front of the vehicle is the safest place from objects that could come loose while driving.
  • The passenger seat is the only area with safety features to protect you in the event of an accident.
For your own safety and your husband’s peace of mind, you need to remain seated and buckled in while your RV is in motion. While you may feel confident in your husband’s driving abilities, an accident can occur at any time. To further protect yourselves while on the road, consider picking up
