Can you use your rental car coverage if your car breaks down?

I have rental car and towing coverage on my car insurance. My car broke down and I used my towing coverage. I need to get it repaired. Can I use my rental car coverage while it's in the shop?

“While your towing and labor coverage covers your vehicle when it breaks down, you normally aren’t able to use your rental car coverage.
Rental car coverage provides coverage after an accident. If you submit a claim for repairs to your insurance, your rental car coverage would allow you to rent a car.
If your car breaks down and you need a rental car, you’d have to pay for it out of pocket. To be sure, you can always reach out to your insurance company. They can go over what’s covered under your rental car coverage.
If you need additional coverage or you feel like you’re paying too much for what you’re receiving in terms of coverage, hop on the Jerry app. Sign up in just minutes to compare quotes from over 50 different insurance companies so you always get the best rate possible.”
