Can you use a backup camera on a driving test in Michigan?

I’m not great at parallel parking. The rear-facing camera in my car helps a lot, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to look at it during the test or not. I don’t want to fail by checking it! Are backup cameras allowed during Michigan road tests?

Yes, you can use a backup camera on a driving test in
Michigan
—as long as you don’t have to manually activate it. Michigan allows use of passively activated technology in vehicles on driving tests, including backup cameras and blind spot indicators.
Anything that you have to activate yourself, however, (like parking assist or self-driving), is not allowed on the driving test. This prevents new drivers from getting a
Michigan license
without knowing how to perform certain actions manually, which is important in case the system they are using fails.
