Can you travel in a car with a concussion?

I got a concussion about a week ago and I haven’t had any reason to get in the car since. However, my parents want to go visit my grandparents this weekend and they want me to come. Will it be safe for me to travel in the car?

After getting a concussion, it’s usually recommended that you wait for at least 24 hours before you attempt to
drive a car
. If it’s been a week since your injury, however, it should be safe for you to travel by car with your concussion.
That said, everyone is different so it’s best to talk to your doctor before you get back behind the wheel. While it probably won’t hurt to travel by car, make sure to pull over if you get dizzy or start to feel sick.
