Can you travel in a car with a baby in a sling?

My baby will only really sleep when I have her in the sling, which is annoying at the best of times but can be almost unbearable in the car. Would it be bad to travel with her in the sling?

No, you should never travel in a car with your baby in a sling. While this might seem like a good solution, it’s actually very dangerous for the baby. In the event of an accident, you and your baby would both be improperly restrained. Your baby should be in
a car seat
at all times.
Instead of using a sling while you’re driving, try letting your baby fall asleep in the sling before you leave. You can also try draping a blanket over your baby’s car seat while you’re driving. The dark environment might help your baby fall asleep. It may also help to play soothing music or sing to your baby.
