Can you tell me how to program a power window switch?

After I changed my car battery, my power window switches for the passenger windows on my driver’s door stopped working. Does it just need to be reprogrammed? Can you tell me how to program a power window switch?

It’s definitely possible that your car’s power window switch or switches might stop working if your car battery died or was recently replaced and just needs to be reprogrammed.
How to program a power window switch might depend on what make and model your vehicle is, but here’s a general approach that often works:
  • At each window, push your window switch to the “open” position and hold it there a few seconds after the window has completely
  • Then, push the window switch to the “closed” position and hold it there a few seconds after the window’s completely closed
  • Try the switches for the windows on your driver’s door—ideally, they should be working again!
If you’re still not having luck, you might be able to contact the local dealership for your vehicle’s manufacturer for assistance.
