As with an in-person test, you’ll need to study the Official Florida Driver License Handbook and take plenty of practice tests before trying the real thing. The test lasts about an hour and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions: 40 on the rules of the road and 10 on road signs. You need at least 40 correct answers (80%) to pass.
You can use your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone to write the test, but you can’t use any external materials. Also, note that you must still visit an FLHSMV office to have your picture taken and complete a vision exam for your learner’s permit. You may be randomly selected to retake the knowledge test (at no extra fee) when you visit.
