Can you take defensive driving twice?

How many times are you allowed to take defensive driving to get out of a ticket in Texas? I took defensive driving once a couple of years ago and I’m hoping I’ll be able to do it again.

The rules about how many times you can take defensive driving vary depending on what state you live in. So, yes, you can take defensive driving twice in
Texas
, but you might not be able to if you lived in a different state.
In Texas, you can go to traffic school once every 12 months in order to get out of a traffic infraction like a ticket, provided you don’t have a commercial driver’s license. Going to a defensive driving course will cause your ticket to be dismissed, meaning it won’t go on your record.
You can also take defensive driving classes to remove old infractions from your record. However, you’ll only be allowed to do this once every 18 months. Taking a defensive driving class can also lower your insurance rates since you’ll be a much safer driver on paper.
