Can you sue someone for reckless driving?

I was in a car accident that happened as a result of another motorist driving recklessly. It totaled my car and I was in the hospital for two days. It’s been about two weeks now, and I still can’t return to work because of my injuries. Can I sue another motorist for reckless driving?

Sorry to hear about your car accident. And while it doesn’t make things better, you can sue someone for reckless driving. In your situation, compensation could be used to pay your medical bills and recoup lost wages, among other things.
In most cases, the other motorist’s insurance should cover property damage, medical bills, and lost wages even if they only have
liability insurance
. Or if you live in a no-fault state, your coverage should pay out.
But if you feel like insurance is mishandling your claim, you can hire a lawyer and sue the other party. On top of recouping expenses, many lawyers can get you an additional settlement for pain and suffering or emotional and mental anguish. Just make sure to hire an attorney that specializes in these types of cases.
