Can you sit on a pillow while driving?

My car’s front seats are hard and very uncomfortable, so long drives are quite unpleasant. I think I can fix the problem if I have a little extra cushioning on the driver’s seat. Can you sit on a pillow while driving?

Car seats can be uncomfortable, so you can definitely sit on a pillow while driving if it makes your ride a bit more pleasant. Just be sure to check your local laws for any limitations.
Keep the following in mind when setting up your driver seat cushioning:
  • Vision: Make sure that if you’re sitting on a pillow, you can still the road.
  • Pedals: Ensure the pillow you’re sitting on doesn’t interfere with your ability to press the car’s gas and brake pedals.
  • Safety: Your seatbelt must be able to fit snugly and securely around you if you’re on a pillow.
  • Comfort: Try to make sure the pillow improves your overall comfort and doesn’t result in you slouching or constantly having to re-adjust the pillow (and
    lose focus on the road
    ).
