Can you refinance a car loan online?

I want to refinance my car, but I just moved out of state, and my loan is with a local bank where I'm from. Can I refinance the car loan online with them or another lender?

Just like many other aspects of your life, refinancing a car can definitely be done online. In most cases, your new lender will take care of all the paperwork of paying off your old loan. So even if your old loan is out of state, you don’t have to stress about it.
When you shop for a
car loan
 online, have these documents to streamline the process:
  • ID
  • Proof of income (pay stubs, 1099s, etc.)
  • Proof of residency (utility bills)
  • Vehicle information
  • Current loan information (balance, interest rate, current lender)
