Can you negotiate the price of gap insurance?

I want to get gap insurance, but I'm wondering what my options are. The dealership is offering it, but it seems expensive. Could I negotiate a price with them? Is there any other company that offers gap insurance?

“Normally, gap insurance is charged as a fixed price with a lender or dealership for the total length of your loan. You most likely won’t be able to negotiate a lower price for it.
However, there are many car insurance carriers that offer gap insurance at affordable rates!
Reach out to your current carrier to see if they offer gap insurance. Even if they do, shop around to ensure you’re getting the best rate for the coverage you need.
The easiest thing to do is request car insurance quotes online. You’ll be able to compare rates between companies and see who can offer you the best deal.
