Can you move around in an RV while driving?

Is it illegal to move around in an RV while you’re driving? I’m getting ready to go on a road trip with my family in our new RV and I don’t know what the rules are about walking around and such.

Congrats on the new RV—you’re in for an exciting adventure! However, keep in mind that your state’s seatbelt laws still apply when you’re in an RV.
In most states, you can’t move around inside your RV while you’re driving it because you’ll be required by law to wear a seatbelt. If you have a contained RV or motorhome, however, you’ll be allowed to sit in the RV with a seatbelt on
while driving
.
If you have a pull-behind RV, however, you can’t even sit in it while you’re driving. It’s incredibly dangerous to sit in a pull-behind RV while driving because it isn’t made to protect you in the event of an accident. As such, it’s best to stay in the car rather than the RV.
