Can you get a DUI for driving tired?

I know that DUIs don’t always mean drunk driving, so can you get a DUI for driving while you’re really tired? Driving tired seems really dangerous but I don’t know if you can actually get punished for it.

You’re right that driving tired is dangerous! While you can’t get a DUI for driving tired, you might still get pulled over if an officer suspects that you’re impaired. If you’re pulled over for driving dangerously you could still get a ticket, but you won’t get a DUI if you don’t have any substances in your system.
Falling asleep at the wheel and driving dangerously can be charged as
distracted driving
since you are distracted by your own exhaustion. While distracted driving tickets are usually less serious than DUIs, they can still be costly for you. Try to get a good night’s rest before you hit the road!
Traffic tickets can also increase your insurance premiums. To make sure you’re getting the best rate, check out the
