These two charges are often functionally the same but carry slightly different legal meanings.DUI stands for *Driving Under the Influence**, meaning you’re operating a vehicle with alcohol or drugs in your system. DWI stands for Driving While Intoxicated, meaning you’re operating a vehicle while impaired due to the alcohol or drugs in your body.
