Can you get a car key replaced even if it's not the original key?

I have a 2004 Toyota and I don't have the original key. Will they be able to replace the key even if it's a copy?

“Yes, you can replace your car key without having the original.
In order to get a new key fob, you’ll need:
  • VIN
  • proof of ownership
  • make and model of the vehicle
With this, you should be able to get a replacement at a Toyota dealership.
You can also find a reliable locksmith to help you out or look into your car’s
warranty
