Can you flat tow an AWD Equinox?

I recently purchased a motorhome and I want to take it to visit my parents a few states over. However, I’d also like to take my AWD Equinox along to use as my primary vehicle once I arrive. Is it possible to flat tow an AWD Equinox?

Congrats on your new motorhome! You can flat tow an AWD Equinox regardless of the model year, trim level, or engine type. While Chevy recommends towing on a flatbed trailer, flat towing will not damage the vehicle nor void the warranty.
To flat tow an AWD Equinox, simply follow these steps:
  1. Ready the vehicle and securely hook it up to the motorhome.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Make sure that the AWD system is on.
  4. Put the car in Neutral.
  5. Engage Accessory Mode (press the start/stop button one time without the brake pedal applied).
  6. An amber light will appear on the start/stop button to confirm you’ve engaged Accessory Mode. A chime will sound for 30 minutes.
  7. Leave the vehicle in Neutral.
  8. Shut off all unnecessary accessories.
  9. You’re ready to roll!
