Can you flat tow a front-wheel-drive car?

have a front-wheel-drive vehicle. However, I recently bought a motorhome, and I’d like to take my car with me on vacation. I’ve just never flat towed a car, so I’m not sure if it’s possible. Can I tow a front-wheel-drive car?

You might be able to flat tow a front-wheel-drive car—it all depends on the drivetrain. You can always flat tow a manual transmission car with front-wheel drive as long as you put it in neutral. However, an automatic transmission is a different story. While some automatic front-wheel-drive cars can be flat towed, some cannot, so it’s important to check your car owner’s manual for more information.
If you’re headed out on vacation with a motorhome and another vehicle, adding
towing and labor coverage
to your car insurance is a smart idea—it functions just as roadside assistance would, but it’s attached to your car insurance. To find a great rate on it, download the
