Can you file a claim if someone spray painted your car?

"Someone spray painted my car while parked in my driveway. Would my insurance pay for the damage?"

“Your car being spray painted is vandalism. If you have
comprehensive insurance
, your insurance should cover the repair. However, you would be required to pay your deductible first.
Depending on the cost to remove the spray paint and your deductible, you may end up paying out of pocket for the cost. The same would apply if you did not have comprehensive insurance.
If you haven’t already, you should file a police report. They may be able to track down who damaged your car.
If they do and are insured, their insurance may pay for the cost of your repairs. If they aren’t insured, you may be able to file a claim with your
uninsured motorist coverage
or file a lawsuit against them.”
