Can you drive a salvage title car in Oklahoma?
I was in an accident a few months ago and my car was declared a total loss. I got a salvage title for it and decided to keep it and see if I could get it running again—and I did! It still looks pretty banged up, but it runs. Can you drive a salvage-title car in Oklahoma?

Congratulations on getting your car working again—that must have been a ton of effort! Unfortunately, it’s illegal to drive a salvage-title car in Oklahoma, even if the vehicle runs.
To drive the car on public roads, you’ll need to first pass an inspection proving the vehicle is safe to drive. Then, if you pass the inspection, you can apply for a rebuilt title from the DMV, and get your Oklahoma car insurance policy. Once you’ve done those three things, you can legally resume driving the car.
