Can you drive a salvage title car in Arizona?

I’m visiting some relatives in Arizona and would like to have my own to get around. They have an older extra one in their driveway, but they said it’s got a salvage title. Can you drive a salvage title car in Arizona?

No, you cannot drive a salvage title car in
Arizona
. You'll need a
restored salvage title
before you can legally operate your vehicle on a public road.
Salvage-titled cars are not legally road-operable, and according to Arizona state law, they must pass a Level III inspection in order to be deemed road-ready. A Level III inspection will check the vehicle and make sure that all the major parts, like the engine, transmission, etc., are in safe working order.
So, unless you’re keen on getting the vehicle hauled to the local branch of the Arizona Department of Transportation, you’re better off asking your relatives for a lift, taking public transportation, or using a rideshare app.
