Can you drive a forklift without a driving license?

I’m looking for a new job, and I’ve seen a few openings for forklift drivers that just require me to get a forklift certification. I’ve never gotten a regular driver’s license though since I live in a big city where driving really isn’t necessary. Will I be able to get a forklift license?

Best of luck to you in your job search! You’ll be happy to hear that, yes, you can drive a forklift without a driver’s license.
Your forklift certification will take place through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA), not the DMV. OSHA requires only that you be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete a mandatory training course to get a forklift operator’s license.
Since OSHA doesn’t offer its own training programs, your training will likely be completed at your new job, so be sure to double check that your new employer will not require a driver’s license in addition to your operator’s license. If they do require you to have a license, be aware that most states will also require you to carry at least liability
