Can you adjust car headlights?

It seems like my headlights are pointed too high. This makes it hard for me to drive at night, but I don't know how to fix it. Is there a way to adjust my headlights?

Answer
“I’m sorry to hear that—but I’m happy to say there’s an easy fix. If you think you need to adjust your headlights, you should consult the owner’s manual for your car to figure out how to do so.
Most vehicles will allow you to manually adjust them. They could be motorized as well, in which case you’ll likely see a button or control inside your vehicle. If it’s manual, you’ll need to take off the headlight cover to adjust the lamp or light bulb.
How to do this will depend on the make and model of your vehicle. While you can search online, your owner’s manual should have a step-by-step guide on how to.
You’ll want to test whether your adjustments work at night. While it’s not safe to drive around, you can point your headlights at a garage or wall to determine if it’s the proper height. If they seem good, take a slow drive around your neighborhood or an empty parking lot to confirm—remember that safe driving is essential!
Be sure to do this at dusk and not complete darkness in case of any issues. Making sure that your headlights work properly is essential. If you can’t see at night, you risk getting into a car accident or harming yourself or others.
While insurance likely won’t pay for regular maintenance on your headlights, your insurance will help in the event of an accident. It’s always a good idea to review your policy every six months to make sure you’re getting the best price on the coverage you want.
