Now that I'm a veteran, can I still get a discount with car insurance companies? I got a military discount on my car insurance when I was active duty.

“Most car insurance companies will offer discounts for both active duty military and veterans.
If you are currently getting a military discount with your carrier, you could inquire about your veteran status. Most insurance carriers just require an active military ID when providing a military discount.
Even if your current carrier will still offer a military discount for you as a veteran, you can shop around. USAA typically offers great deals for military members.
You may be able to find another carrier who will offer a better rate and discount. Not every carrier rates policies the same or provides the same discount.
It never hurts to shop around to see if you have the best rate. Using the free Jerry makes comparing rates easier than ever.”
