Can other automakers make fast electric cars like Tesla?
GM, Kia, Ford, and a bunch of other automakers make electric cars, but it doesn’t really seem like any of them make fast EVs. Why is Tesla pretty much the go-to for performance-based electric cars? Are there any other automakers that they compete with?

The reason why Tesla is so well-known for being a performance-based brand is because that’s pretty much what they do. While they do offer cheaper models that are for everyday use, Tesla’s vehicles advertise high-performance along with above-average battery life. However, they aren’t the only names in the game.

isn’t what you’d considered a sports car, it’s an SUV that flaunts over 1,000 hp. Electric vehicles are actually more performance-geared than traditional gas-powered cars, and it’s because they more efficiently provide power straight to the wheels; there’s no need for a geared transmission. Other than Tesla, the luxury brand that actually offers an equally impressive sports car with a 520-mile battery range is Lucid. The Lucid Air offers up to 802 hp and is modeled similarly to a Tesla. Lucid is a California-based start-up that’s still making a name for themselves, but they’re well on their way to setting the bar for battery longevity in the EV market.
