Can my insurance company force me to download their driving behavior app?

My insurance company keeps raising my premium and said I will need to download their driving behavior app if I want to save money. Can they force me to download the app? Should I just switch companies?

“Insurance companies provide discounts for many different things, and being a good driver is one of them. Although a driving record does provide a good snapshot of a person’s driving behaviors, an app or plug-in device can give carriers a more complete picture.
All discount programs are optional. You are not required to download an app if you don’t want to. That being said, carriers rate your policy based on the information they have, which may be why your rate is increasing.
If you aren’t happy with your current carrier, shop around! You may be able to find a lower rate with another carrier, without the need for a driving discount or special app.
If you want to save money on car insurance, the Jerry app is a good place to start. A licensed broker, Jerry does all the hard work of finding the cheapest quotes from the top name-brand insurance companies and buying new car insurance. “
