Can my car insurance claim be denied if my registration and inspection are expired?

I got into an accident while my car's registration and inspection was expired. Could my car insurance deny my claim? I'm likely to be deemed not at fault and can't afford to get my car repaired myself.

Sorry to hear about your accident, but good news! Your
car insurance
claim shouldn’t be denied due to an expired inspection or registration.
Car insurance requires that your vehicle be registered in the state you’re seeking insurance, but it’s not likely your car insurance will look into it. All that would be required is that your
insurance is valid
.
However, you could still face tickets and fees. If you need to file a police report for the accident, the police will likely ask for your vehicle’s registration. If it’s expired, you could receive a ticket. The same would apply to your inspection sticker as well.
To avoid any further consequences, you’ll want to renew your registration and get your vehicle inspected as soon as possible. While it seems like an extra cost, you won’t have to worry about it influencing your car insurance in the future.
Since you filed a claim, your insurance rates will undoubtedly increase. As a result, now is the time to start shopping and comparing rates. Use the
