Can I wear AirPods while driving?

Is it illegal to wear my AirPods while I’m driving? My kids like to watch really obnoxious cartoons in the car in the morning and it always drowns out my music. If I could just wear my AirPods while I’m driving it would make things a lot easier for me.

First of all, kudos for being responsible behind the wheel—trying to drive with Doc McStuffins drowning out your tunes is a recipe for distracted driving!
Unfortunately, in most states, it is illegal to wear AirPods– or any other type of headphones or earbuds– while you’re driving. However, some states allow you to wear a single earbud while you’re behind the wheel. Make sure to check your local laws before trying out a single AirPod, though!
Another option might be to get headphones for your kids instead. If they watch their cartoons on an iPad or a similar portable device, attaching headphones would be a breeze. Then, you could enforce a headphones in the car rule so that you can hear
your music
without distracting yourself from the road.
