Can I use car tires on my travel trailer?

I’m planning to go on a long road trip in a couple of months, so I was taking a look at my travel trailer now since it hasn’t been used in a while. One of the tires is flat, and I was thinking of using a car tire. Can I just use car tires on my travel trailer?

Flat tires are such a bummer. Replacing them isn’t cheap, either. While putting those car tires on your trailer might seem tempting, here’s a word of advice: don’t! Car and trailer tires are designed to perform their own specific jobs, and they really shouldn’t be swapped in for one another.
Trailer
tires are designed to follow a vehicle. While car tires typically have thicker tread and more traction, trailer tires have thicker sides, which helps them handle rocks or other projectiles thrown their way and accommodate some of the swaying that they can be prone to on the road.
As you prepare to head out on your trip, you may also want to confirm your car and travel trailer insurance are up to date.
