Can I trade in two cars for one?

My family and I no longer need two cars so we’re thinking about trading them in and upgrading—but we don’t want to deal with the two cars separately. Will we be able to trade both cars for one in return?

With the increase in work-from-home jobs, it makes sense that you’d want to downsize. You should have no problem negotiating a two-car trade for one in exchange. Ultimately the
trade-in is up to the dealer
, but the deal should come down to the value of the new car compared to the
values of your trade-ins
.
Make sure to do your due diligence while negotiating the trade:
  • Negotiate the retail values of the trade-in cars separately before talking prices of a new car
  • Be ready with documents like title, registration, and maintenance records
  • Take caution when trading cars with
    remaining loan balances
so you don’t have to continue paying them off
If you follow these simple tips and talk to your dealer you should be able to be driving away in your new, upgraded vehicle in no time.
