Can I renew my driver's license online in Kentucky?

My Kentucky driver’s license is going to expire in a few days, and I have zero time in my schedule to make it to the Driver Licensing office before then. Can I renew it online instead?

No worries—you can renew your driver’s license online in
Kentucky
unless you fit into one of the following categories:
  • You’re upgrading to a REAL ID
  • You’re upgrading from a four-year expiration to an eight-year expiration
  • You need a license with a new name or address
  • You’re under 21 years of age
  • You need to renew a commercial driver’s license (CDL)
When renewing online, you’ll need a valid credit or debit card to pay the $21.50 fee for a standard four-year license. You’ll also be charged a 1.5% processing fee for a debit card or a 2.75% fee for credit cards. You can expect to get your new license in the mail within 10 to 15 business days.
Once you’ve got your new Kentucky license in hand, you might want to consider refreshing something else—your
car insurance
policy. To make sure you aren’t paying more than necessary, download the
Jerry
app and sign up! You’ll instantly be met with the most affordable quotes available, then just tap your best match to make it your new policy.
