Can I renew my driver’s license online in Arkansas?

I’m situated in North Little Rock and my driver’s license is about to expire. I would prefer not to go to the revenue office, though… Is there a way I can renew my Arkansas driver’s license online?

Not wanting to hang out in a
North Little Rock
revenue office is a perfectly understandable preference.
However,
Arkansas
is, unfortunately, one of the few states that does not have an option to renew your driver’s license online currently.
In fact, renewing your license in person at the revenue office is pretty much the only way you can renew it unless you meet a slim set of exceptions to renew by mail.
These are as follows:
  • You’re a full-time student at a school that’s out of state
  • Your employment has temporarily moved you out of state
  • You’re a military member currently deployed outside of Arkansas
  • You’re temporarily overseas
Even if you do meet one of these exceptions, you will need to call Arkansas Driver’s License Issuance at 1-501-371-5581 to be approved for a mail renewal.
On the bright side, it appears that Arkansas’ DMV is beginning to offer more services online. You can now register a new vehicle, request a replacement license, change your address, and pre-register for a new license through
myDMV
. Hopefully, in time, license renewals will be achievable through this online portal someday too.
