Can I negotiate my car insurance cost?

I’ve been with the same car insurance company for almost 10 years and, after getting in an accident recently, my monthly payments went up nearly 50%. Besides this accident, my driving record is virtually spotless and I feel like this increase isn’t justified. Can I negotiate the cost of my insurance?

Answer
Unfortunately, you cannot negotiate the price of your car insurance. Each state heavily regulates the car insurance industry. For a car insurance company to offer rates outside of their range, they would need approval from the state.
However, there are ways to save money!
