Can I insure a lowered Honda Civic?

I’d like to lower my car so I can increase the acceleration, but I’m afraid it will affect my insurance. Can you tell me if I can insure a lowered Honda Civic? And will it affect my rates?

Unfortunately, most vehicle modifications do affect car insurance premiums, and lowering your car is no exception. So, while you can insure a lowered Honda Civic, you may need to pay for additional coverages or even switch providers.
Why do insurers care if you lower your car? Because in addition to costly after-market parts (a lowering kit), a lower car is harder to tow and lift, suffers from uneven tire wear, and bottoms out more often than other vehicles. In addition, lowering your vehicle makes it more likely that the suspension will interfere with other car parts.
If your lowering kit is listed as an exclusion on your policy, your insurance will not cover damages if you’re involved in an accident. So my advice is to contact your current carrier to find out if your modifications are covered, and then start shopping around for a new
car insurance
policy if they’re not.
When looking for modified car insurance, it’s smart to compare several carriers to ensure you’re getting the best rate possible.
